Woodward + Morgan Wade + Jeff Brockmeyer (photoshoot)

So one afternoon during my summer '09 at Woodward, Jeff grabs me from the Video Production room and we zip up the hill in his golf cart. I had been instructing all day in the PA humidity, and was pretty beat. I barely enough time to grab my camera, but Jeff was selling it hard... He said something like, "I gotta shoot photos for the catalog, and I'm going to get Morgan to do 500 tricks in a row. You should come!"

So that's the basis for this video. I found the best angle for the Lot8 box jump, and locked down the camera. Morgan did in fact do almost every trick back to back. It shows the patterns of photographer and rider working together. And I think the style of this video shows the repetition involved.

I decided to chop off the sides of my video to get the best framing. So even though I shot it widescreen HD, the finished video is 4:3 not 16:9. This is also a shout out to the old snowboard videos that I grew up watching. My favorites were all shot on film but sold as VHS tapes to fit on a square TV.

Editing was quick and down-n-dirty, when I had time in between helping campers adjust their white balance and timelapse settings. I edited the shots together in the living room of the Lodge, while Jeff touched up his final photos.
